General Anesthesia
General anesthesia occurs when complete unconsciousness is reached and is frequently associated with the need for an airway device to support breathing. Under General Anesthesia, the patient is rendered unconscious and has no awareness of perception of sensation throughout the procedure.
Monitored Anesthesia Care (MAC)
MAC, also commonly referred to as sedation, is when the patient is given an anesthetic that helps relieve pain, discomfort, and anxiety. MAC anesthesia is a spectrum ranging from light sedation to deep sedation depending on the patient’s needs and the surgical procedure.
Regional
Regional Anesthesia is used for the administration of local anesthesia to numb distinct parts of your body. Frequently, regional anesthesia is combined with general anesthesia or MAC to provide the greatest degree of safety and comfort. You may remain awake, or you may be sedated to keep you relaxed during the operation. At times, a general anesthetic is needed as well. Additionally, we provide neuraxial anesthesia, such as spinals and epidurals.
Local
Local anesthesia is used to prevent pain or to numb a small site. A local anesthetic drug is injected directly into tissue to numb a smaller, specific area of the body. This can be used for some types of minor surgery.
